Boarding House Stew Boarding House Stew E.E Smith
BOARDINGHOUSE STEW is set in a seedy, down-at-heel boardinghouse in Sacramento, California in 1943. Due to an acute labor shortage caused by the evacuation of all Japanese from the area, as well as many domestic workers preferring war work to house work, the proprietress is forced to hire a young schoolgirl named Eileen as maid and cook for the summer. Through one crisis after another -- some more comic than tragic -- the people who live in the house manage to pull together and become a kind of family. In the center of it all is Eileen, narrating their stories which she is able to observe from her unique vantage point behind the swinging kitchen door that never quite closes on its rusty hinges.

Hannover's History

Hannover was established in 1993 as a California corporation. Hannover House concentrated its activities exclusively in the literary, book-publishing industries until 2003 when the company entered into the DVD marketplace. Hannover House expanded into theatrical distribution in 2007.

In 2003, the company published the book Blood, Money and Power: How L.B.J. Killed J.F.K. by Barr McClellan, which argues that the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was arranged by his vice-president and successor, Lyndon B. Johnson. Barr McClellan is the father of Scott McClellan, a White House press secretary under George W. Bush and Mark McClellan, commissioner at the United States Food and Drug Administration when the book was published.

In December, 2009, Eric Parkinson and his operating partner D. Frederick Shefte, entered into an agreement to reverse merge with the publicly-traded Target Development Group, Inc. Simultaneous with the December 1st merger transaction, the officers and directors of Target were restructured to add Hannover House executives to the board, with Eric Parkinson also tapped as Chairman / CEO and Fred Shefte as President.
